A month ago my French photographer friend (who also happens to be my occasional salsa partner) invited me to Yoji Yamamoto’s photo shooting. The photos are gonna be used for postcards and posters distributed in major departments and Y’s stores.
I had a lot of fun because Y’s style of photography doesn’t require a model to actually pose. I just had to be my natural me, with little makeup, with tired face, with undone hair because Y’s clothes is for people, not models, hehe! Marc Jacobs has the same concept. If only I could get into one of his shootings..
With so much work lately I didn’t have time to update my blog but better late than never finally I found couple of minutes to upload these photos that my friend Hiro took of me in Odaiba during GW.
I really love them because they are so bright and happy! We took some of them on the decks and the other ones in the flower field not far from Venus Fort.
I love field flowers. I spent my childhood summers camping and my favourite activity was running away to the fields and just laying down on the grass, looking at the sky and breathing hot summer air mixed with sweet scents of poppies, clover and corflowers… Hmm, I had a happy childhood..what’s wrong with me!
That was one twisted event planning that could have succeeded only in Japan. Plant some girls (any girls with blond hair) wearing high heels and cheap white suits, throw in cute dogs and balloons, ask them to walk around the crowded Roppongi areas and boom here are tons of “Look a foreigner” and bunch of “Hoho, girls with dogs” and countless mobile snap shots, camera clicks and “Can I have a balloon?” conversations – in other words an ideal Japanese PR event! Oh, did I mention it was for vodka?
