Monki spring/summer 2014 preview

On the day I went to see H&M collection, I also got a chance to preview Monki’s spring/summer 2014 looks. Monki is a Swedish brand that is as fun and free-spirited as it is responsible towards the environment, animals and society in general. I only recently got acquainted with the brand but it is quickly becoming a favorite of mine especially now that I found myself fascinated with prints for the first time ever in my life.

Tokyo designers week 2013

Two weeks ago, Laura invited me to join her for Tokyo designers week fair. It was the first time for me to attend it though I have heard about it before. This year it was preceding Design festa in Tokyo Big Sight. Unfortunately, going there is not really an option for me these days so I jumped to the opportunity to visit this one which was much closer, in Shinjuku. A lot of works were introduced by many design schools around Japan presenting works in various niches such as conceptual art and media, package design and DTP, industrial and agricultural design, technology, automotive industry etc.

H&M spring/summer 2014 preview

Social media is amazing. One day, I am instagraming in the middle of the night while nursing my son, the next day I am offered to see the preview of H&M spring/summer 2014 collection at Shibuya’s H&M Flagship store.
The upcoming collection goes hand in hand with the biggest trend of the season the “Bohemian glamour of the 30s” where delicate and romantic designs meet mannish silhouettes and modern fabrics like metallic leather, suede and coated denim.

Comptoir des cotonniers spring/summer 2014 collection preview

Yesterday, I went to the Comptoir des cotonniers show room to see the preview of spring/summer 2014 collection. I was blown away by the versatility of designs. I could easily pick up a couple of pieces and wear them in various combinations all summer which I will end up doing for sure. I was really impressed with the smart mix of airy bohemian textiles (silk, georgette, lace) and playful rock’n’roll details (zippers, chains, fringe and leather).
