Swedes know it best!
Recently, a lot of people have been visiting my blog in search of “H&M 2014 kids collection” photos so I asked my friend Saki if I could come to the showroom and look at it. The new collection was amazing! There were a lot of elements that are so on trend right now like chambray and denim textures, prints and eyelet lace and the price is unbelievable. I tend to go to GAP and buy things in bulk for my son during sale seasons but H&M full price is even cheaper than GAP sale price and the quality is just as good. There are not as many exciting things for boys as there are for girls but going shopping at H&M kids the next day, I found him the cutest and super soft and comfy pair of shorts and some stylish t-shirts. Can’t wait for warmer weather to come.
I am so in love with the grey jacket with navy elbow patches and this amazing denim shirt. My son and me are going to my cousin’s wedding this summer so I am in search of some really cool outfit for him. I already have a navy bow tie and I think this grey jacket would look really good with it. It’s not yet in stores but I am going to look out for it. ^-^
Since I came to the showroom, I also took a look at the new exclusive H&M CONSCIOUS line. It is planned to launch on April 10th at selected stores worldwide. In Tokyo, it will be available only in Shibuya and Harajuku. All the items were made with the use of sustainable materials such as organic cotton and silk from mulberry trees. The collection was inspired by Spanish matadors and it features a lot of romantic, airy lace dresses, high crop tops and wide pants with high waists. There was this absolutely breathtaking black dress with asymmetrical hemline. Miranda Kerr was wearing it during promotion in Japan so I am sure it will be grabbed before the shop even opens its doors next week.
And since Monki showroom is right next to H&M one, I also visited Tabasa who showed me a new super romantic capsule collection which is a collaboration between Monki and a Swedish designer Ida Sjöstedt (this is their third collaboration). The collection features a fun mix of pastel and neon colors and the silhouettes are very youthful yet luxurious. It will hit the stores at the end of April.
I got to meet Monkis this time. Tabasa brought them from Sweden in her suitcase.
The freshly arrived items from S/S collection were great as well. I am loving the black and white bags with doggies and kittens and also the navy shirt in polka dots is so cute. I was wearing almost the exact one underneath my sweater.
Monki tags are the cutest. These amazing details to me are signs of quality that make something I buy special. Yet, the price is more than affordable. I don’t know how Swedes do it. They are production wizards. ^-^
Saki and me were discussing the genius behind a romper. It is so stylish by default and doesn’t require any styling which I am incredibly bad at. With a romper, to look great I just need a romper. Period. I have never been able to find one that looks great on me but if I do, I will rock it for sure! I definitely have my eye on this one. It is so easy-breezy – perfect for Japanese summer and a busy mommy on the go.
There are a lot of new items with sheer and lace. They are definitely more girly and romantic than the ones I saw earlier this year. I finally got my zebra backpack and super comfy navy zipper pants and I have a feeling I will be coming back to Monki real soon.
Thank you Saki and Tabasa for showing me new collections. You girls rock!
