YSL Volupte tint-in-oil launch party

Last Saturday, I went to a launch party of YSL Beauty newest product Volupte tint-in-oil lip gloss and lipstick. It was held at a cozy Montoak restaurant in Omotesando.

I was so lucky to be invited among other bloggers, models, artists, stylists, fashion editors and PR mavens. This is the third time I go to YSL beauty launch event and I am always surprised at how different they are. It was a little bit crowded but even with the lack of space, PR team managed to organize fun interactive games, a social media print station and makeup booths to try new product right there and then. I really liked the new lip gloss and the fact that it stayed on all evening. I was super excited to find it in my gift bag. The lip gloss comes in 8 fun spring colors and lipstick has additional 2 limited edition colors. The product is on sale since last Friday. :)

I met cool new people – Brasilian artist Yohan, beautiful models Juliana Minato and Kelly Ann and a sweetheart Taro who is joining Issey Miyake team from April. There were a lot of familiar faces too – Barby, Maya Kibbel, gorgeous youtube vloggers Nakagawa Yuri, Miki, Rinrin doll and Amiaya twins. And of course I came with my own gang of Tokyo’s coolest – PR goddesses Eri, Cecile, talented illustrator Adrian and charismatic Polish model Alexa.  Thank you guys for amazing time as always and Kozue san for the gracious invitation.

Onitsuka Tiger X Andrea Pompilio RTW Spring 2015

Onitsuka Tiger runway show was the last one for me this season and the best one yet in terms of entertainment. ^-^ Thanks to my friend Fabio, I got myself a VIP seat at the sponsor booth and an opportunity to wait for the start of the show there instead of lining up outside with the rest of the people for an hour. Yep, the show was fashionably late.

Andrea Pompilio is a designer for Onitsuka Tiger’s clothing line. He presented a very cool collection and an amazing show with 40!! models walking down a U-shaped runway. The finale was very dramatic – all the models lined up in rows on a separate stage for a final view of the entire collection.

I really liked some of the pieces like floor-grazing dresses, sweats with industrial tape-like stripes and gladiator sneakers. I also loved the styling of the models especially the feather crowns.

After the show, we were all invited to an after party at IDOL in Aoyama. I ran into a couple of friends so we decided to check it out together. One of them told me that when he was little, Onitsuka Tiger were the uncool, everyone-has-it type of sneakers and Adidas was something of a must-have. ^-^ Well, the brand did really well since. Old, forgotten labels are rebranding now with these cool, trending new looks and smart marketing campaigns. Look at the Birkenstock for crying out loud. Yes, they are still ridiculous but yes, I bought a pair this summer. ^-^

Alexander Wang x H&M shopping party

Yesterday, H&M Japan invited me to a long-anticipated Alexander Wang x H&M shopping event. This collaboration made a lot of buzz this year. Everyone I know was on edge trying to sneak a peak at the new collection and then of course get their hands on it too.

In my mind, I pictured a lot of soft jersey basics that Alexander Wang is famous for, or at least his T line. I did not expect a full-blown neoprene and everything sportswear collection or the fact that I would like it more than the anticipated jerseys. ^-^

The party didn’t need any warmup. Upon entering, people immediately went down to business. Pictures? Later! I need to have my boxing gloves and leather backpack! So the best of the stuff was grabbed pretty quickly. First went the shoes, then the bags and cutout dresses, then the rest of the stuff. By the end of the shopping spree there were only empty hangers left. I can only imagine what will happen on the 6th of November when the collection becomes available worldwide. Brace yourselves brave people of H&M. Winter is coming!

To say that there were a lot of recognizable faces there would be an understatement. There were more celebrities than the ordinary folks and that is considering the fact that I don’t know any of those Johnny’s and AKB youngsters.. Models, actors, singers, talents, photographers, bloggers, PR gurus, fashion stylists, fashion entrepreneurs and did I mention models? Lots of models! ^-^

I could finally meet Emi Renata – the gorgeous tall model in a tank top dress. She was very bubbly just like on her pictures. I loved her energy.

Another model I adore is Viviene Sheep – New Zealand raised Taipei girl with a very memorable face. She was very friendly and so calm in the midst of all that shopping craziness. Next to her is Rinrin – model/vlogger and the only Japanese girl I know who speaks flawless English. ^-^

The collection is going to be available from 6th of November nationwide. Go choose your camping spot now because if you think you can just walk in the doors on that day and have your picks, think again. ^-^ I am not even going to try even though I would love to get a couple of other pieces.. Let the hunger games begin!

Zin Kato RTW SS2015

Zin Kato is an LA brand created by a Japanese designer Toru Kato.  He presented his new SS 2015 collection that featured a lot of delicate materials with some of the looks resembling more lingerie than RTW separates. Frilly, lacy KAWAII looks is really not my cup of tea but this type of style really hits home with Japanese female population. The showstopper dresses were beautiful but overall I find this collection to be a bit “old lady”. The audience was filled with madame who cheered each look with awws and clapping. ^-^

Before the show, I ran into Eri who was finishing a photoshoot nearby. We both got our hair done at Miracurl stand by Fabio – famous Italian hair dresser from Sinden. The Miracurl curler is amazing. It curls the hair by itself and the whole head takes only 10 minutes. ^-^ The most important thing for me is that after using it, my hair didn’t smell bad. My home curler is great at doing its job but it also burns my hair.. I only curl my hair when going out to an event or a party so these sort of outings are always associated for me with this smell of burnt hair.. I am so happy that it is in the past now. I will definitely use this curler instead from now on. ^-^ By the way, this is not a sponsored post or anything. I simply share my opinion. ^-^

DRESSEDUNDRESSED RTW SS2015

DRESSEDUNDRESSED RTW SS2015 runway show was a breath of fresh air for me. The crisp, clean tailoring in a combination with pure, almost non-colors really drew me in with its creative balance between simplicity and sophistication. I also really liked the styling of the models – the hair, the geeky round fashion glasses, the flat shoes. The peculiar looking fashion duo of two designers Takeshi Kitazawa and Emiko Sato presented a very well-thought, well-cut collection of wearable separates under the appropriately named theme “Intelligence”.

Do I want some of its pieces? Absolutely. The t-shirt dress with a face on it and a white maxi skirt are very cute. Some of my friends on Instagram were questioning the taste level of the sheer t-shirts and tank tops for men but I think it can all look very appropriate in the right context. Plus, we all know that even though the collection is ready-to-wear, there are always some elements of the costume present. Some pieces are there for pure showstopping purposes. The black mesh top may not be as wearable in the daily life as some of the other pieces but it certainly grabs the attention on the runway. ^-^

At the show, I sat right next to a super cute style blogger from Holland – Lily from http://www.hashtagbylily.com/.  Please check out her blog if you are looking for fresh style inspirations. This is her, wearing a sparkly pencil skirt with a white cotton t-shirt – very original!

Ritsuko Shirahama SS2015 backstage

This season, Tokyo Fashion Week started for me from the backstage of Ritsuko Shirahama SS2015 runway show. Mizu san – the principal artist for Maybelline flew in from New York to do the makeup for all the shows sponsored by the brand. He spoke very passionately about the concept behind the look he created for this collection. The designer was inspired by the movement of light and she wanted the makeup to reflect it. That and the 60s groovy vibe that was also a part of her inspiration. So Mizu san took 6os and put a modern twist on it by creating flat eyebrows and a wide frame for the eyes, cutting Maybelline Lash Factory lashes and placing them strategically at various angles. Then, he used Maybelline’s newest mascara base Big eyes and Magnum Volum’ Express to finish it up perfectly. Big eyes mascara is going to be available at the end of November. The focal point of the look was the use of white eyeliner. The illusion of light it created was undeniable.

Strong eyes like that called for a super natural skin and the minimum of eye shadows. He basically didn’t use any but when he did, he blended them with a BB mineral foundation creating a more organic look.

The nails were done in the same white shade as the eyeliner. The nail polish was provided by ESSIE and will be available for sale from November 29th as a part of Christmas limited edition collection.

Yasutoshi Ezumi 2014-2015 A/W runway show & backstage at Tokyo Fashion Week

Yesterday, I went to see another runway show, this time of a Japanese designer Yasutoshi Ezumi. The collection was called “designare” which is Latin for “mark out”, “plan”. It was inspired by Eames House – a famous landmark of mid-20th century modern architecture.

Laura DJ @ Womb

Nothing is impossible for Laura! Singing, costume designing, modeling, making movies, acting, DJing? No problem. Her multi talent has no limit and she never fails to surprise me. Last week she invited as all out to her party at Womb where she was performing as well. It was great, so natural and energetic.

There was a fashion show too. Some young aspiring designer and 150cm tall Japanese models hehe. No but they were cute and who said a model has to be tall? Tiny models can do it just as good. :) Here is their picture!

Snowflake & gypsy

Me and Gow chan had a shooting yesterday. I had this beautiful white makeup with Swarovski stones that made me look like a frozen snowflake! I really liked it coz I have never tried anything like that before. Gow chan had disco gypsy kind of look which was so perfect for her! Can’t wait to see the pictures!!!!ヾ(@^▽^@)ノ
